Our Story

A family-owned Minnesota business, inspired by nature and built around your dreams. From distinctive Diamond Willow lamps to custom rustic furniture, we create handmade pieces that bring natural character into your home.

Finding beauty in unexpected places

Hi, I’m Mike. My love for the outdoors began with scouting, shaped by my parents and my Scoutmaster, Roger.

While hiking through the forests of the Midwest, I would notice unusual trees growing in the swamps. At first, I didn’t see their beauty. Roger showed me that Diamond Willow was one of God’s hidden treasures.

Beneath that rough exterior was wood full of character. I came to think of it as my “Minnesota snowflake”—each piece a little different from the next. Discovering that beauty led me to work I enjoy and a craft I love.

A family-owned dream

Years later, with my wife’s support and blessing, we took a leap and started Diamond Willow Dreams. Building a business was a challenge, but working with this wood felt like the right path.

Scouting remains an important part of our family’s story. My three younger brothers and I all earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and so did all our sons.

Today, our family-owned Minnesota business brings together that love of nature, family, and making things by hand.

Your dreams are our blueprints

Each piece of Diamond Willow is handpicked, and its natural shape and markings help guide what it becomes.

We make rustic lighting, wood décor, furniture, walking staffs, and custom creations with care and attention to the character of the materials.

Have an idea for your home, cabin, or a meaningful gift? We’d love to hear it and explore what we can make together.

Thank you for being part of our family’s dream.
